Mining Explosion-proof and Intrinsically-safe Permanent Magnet High Voltage Vacuum Switch for Mobile Substation

The KJG-400/6Y and KJG-400/10Y Permanent Magnet High Voltage Vacuum Switch for Mining Explosion-proof and Intrinsically-safe Mobile Substation is mainly used in high voltage side of mining explosion-proof mobile substation with 6(10)KV rated voltage, 50HZ rated frequency, up to 400A rated current, and three-phase AC neutral point indirectly grounded. It pairs and works perfectly with our BXJ series Low-voltage Protection Box for Mining Explosion-proof and Intrinsically-safe Mobile Substation. Can support and control the mobile substation, achieve infrequent on-off operations, has short circuit, overload, overvoltage, undervoltage, phase failure, transformer overheated protection functions, etc.

  • 1. Together with the Transformer and Low-voltage Protection Box, it forms the low-voltage side fault breaking transformer high-voltage side circuit breaker operating mode, that is international advanced level.

    2. The use of advanced intelligent single-chip processor controller and human-computer interface (liquid crystal display and operating keyboard) system: high sampling accuracy, strong anti-interference ability, sensitive and reliable performance, stable quality, flexible and convenient parameter setting, concise operation and fault screen.

    3. It has a unique high-voltage isolation switch chamber, safe and reliable operation and maintenance.

    4. The Intelligent integrated protection device system has the functions of self-checking, fault diagnosis inspection and memory function. Can detect and display the running status and fault indication in real time, which is convenient for system use, maintenance and fault judgment processing.

    5. Complete protection functions: overload, short circuit, overvoltage, undervoltage, emergency stop, phase failure, backup trip and other protections, and proceed reliable breaking process to fault signal feedback from the low voltage protection box. The use of intrinsically safe circuit for remote operation is safer and more reliable.

    6. The combination of the permanent magnetic mechanism and the spring opening makes the distribution of the opening speed more ideal. Compared with spring-operated mechanism circuit breakers, the number of moving parts is greatly reduced, resulting in a significant increase in reliability and mechanical life.

    7. Operating Loop Power Transformer is 10kV or 6kV universal.


  • 1. The power distribution switch is mainly composed of an explosion-proof housing, a ZN-12/Y630 type vacuum permanent magnet mechanism circuit breaker and a wiring chamber.

    2. Explosion-proof Housing: consists of a main body, front door and wiring chamber, the front door has a quick-open door structure, the front side is equipped with start, stop, over test, reset, emergency stop, shift, confirm, adjust buttons and display parts.

    The right side is equipped with an electrical locking device, manual (test) closing device, propulsion mechanism handle, stop button (mechanical) and observation hole, and the upper part is equipped with an explosion-proof wiring chamber.

    There is also a door safety locking device on the right side. When the door is opened, the power distribution switch will automatically open.

     3. ZN-12/Y630 High Pressure Vacuum Permanent Magnet Circuit Breaker is suitable for indoor 6kV, 10KV/50Hz three-phase AC power supply systems as well as indoor high-voltage electrical power distribution systems, and can perform frequent operation or interrupt the short circuit breaking current within the rated current range. The Permanent Magnet Circuit Breaker has the remarkable features of small size, light weight, simple structure, reliable operation, maintenance-free and long service life, etc. It is an ideal replacement of a mechanical operating mechanism.

    4. The wiring chamber uses a pressure plate type lead-in device to pull-in a cable, and the power is pulled into the main chamber through a bushing-type terminal.

    5. High-voltage Vacuum Switch and BXB Type Low-voltage Protection Box use a Lock line connection way.

    (1) Can directly connect to our Dry-type Transformer through the transformer's built-in connection cable.

    (2) Connect to the low-voltage side througn wiring chamber’s seven-core terminal blocks and compression nut cable entry devices when pairing with other Dry-type Transformers (produced by other plants)

    6. Vacuum Switch has a manual (test) closing function.

    The 'Manual (test) Closing' function of this switch is used as en emergency backup for eletric closing when the electrical closing system of the switch fails and cannot perform the normal closing, but the power supply side and the load side of the mobile substation are still in the normal state. The normal electric closing backup is used as emergency.

    After confirming that the high and low-voltage sides’ display screens do not have any faults, such as the switch cannot be normally closed when pressing the high or low voltage side closing buttons, which indicates that the components of the switch closing system have failed. Under this circumstance, open the front door, turn the toggle switch (located on the right side of the circuit breaker) to “manual” , then close the front door, operate closing device on the right side of the high voltage switch according to the marking direction of the manual, test the closing, press the toggle switch back to 'electric' after troubleshooting, and resume normal electric closing.

  • 1) Overvoltage and Undervoltage Protection

    When the line voltage is ≥115%Ur, an overvoltage signal (overvoltage setting range 100∽130%) is sent; when the line voltage is ≤75%Ur, an undervoltage signal (undervoltage setting range 60∽100%) is sent; When the signal is sent, the circuit breaker shall be opened after a delay and the delay time setting range shall be 5∽65s.

    2) Short Circuit Protection

    Short-circuit current setting value is set according to the multiple of rated current (3 to 10 times). When the short-circuit current is 1.2 times of the setting value, the operation time is not more than 0.1 s, and the error between the action value and the setting value should not be greater than ±10 %.

    3) Overload Protection

    The overload current setting value is set according to the multiple of the rated current, and its operation time and overload current have inverse time characteristics.

    4) Over-temperature Protection

    When the dry-type transformer of the mobile substation reaches the protection temperature, the switch can be opened.

    5) Phase Failure Protection

    Three-phase phase-failure protection operating characteristics shall comply with the following table:

    6) Self-inspection Function

    Overload and short circuit protection can be self-tested by pressing a button.

  • 1. The altitude should not exceed 2,000m;

    2. The ambient temperature is between -20°C ~ 40°C (-4°F to 104°F);

    3. The surrounding relative humidity should not exceed 95% (25°C/77°F);

    4. Mines with a mixture of methane and coal dust;

    5. Place without strong bumps and shocks;

    6. Place prevent dripping;

    7. Place without corrosive gases to damage metals and insulating materials.
